With its 2069 meters of altitude it dominates the entire Lamonese plateau: Monte Coppolo - Còpol in the local dialect - is a large pyramidal base almost completely covered with forests with the exception of the highest part, formed by walls of limestone and dolomitic rocks. Its peaks are three: the first and highest is called "de San Donà" because it overlooks the hamlet of San Donato, the second called "dell'Archìl" is situated above the town centre of Lamon, the third and lowest is halfway between the two.
Which one of the three you choose to explore, don't expect an easy climb. Conquering one of the three peaks of the Coppolo it's hard work, and requires trained legs and good breath. To reward you, however, there are some of the most beautiful views you can imagine and the sight of particularly suggestive scenery such as those offered by the Bosco dei Gnei. There are three possible access routes: the CAI paths 821 and 822, and the 393 which starts from Trentino. Natural continuation of the Vette Feltrine and "sanctuary" of biodiversity, it is not an easy mountain to climb, but it offers breathtaking views. If you are well-trained and you like little frequented routes, Monte Coppolo is really a destination not to be missed.
